No kissing rule with baby - cold sores?

Not an AIBU post but this topic gets the most attention and I’m feeling anxious -
We’ve had a no kiss rule since baby was born and we let our parents and close family members know. They’ve all respected it but LO is 5 months now and we’ve had a couple of more distant family members and family friends give an odd kiss on LO’s head, we’ve let it slide because to be honest it’s not a hill to die on, it’s a quick kiss on LO’s forehead as we’re saying goodbye and it’s just not worth making a thing of it, it’s never on her cheeks or mouth and it’s only very occasionally- however a close family friend kissed LO the other day and I’ve just remembered she gets Cold sores. She didn’t have one when she did kiss the baby but she does get them quite regularly, I am going to mention to her next time we see her the no kiss rule to make sure she doesn’t kiss her again but is there a chance that my baby will now have the cold sore virus and is there any symptoms to look out for?
She hasn’t had any symptoms but I’m quite worried now, TYIA

Have you ever had a coldsore? I think if you have when the baby was in the womb you would have gave it immunity I think I read but I could be wrong and I get why you would be worried

Try not to worry too much, the risk is mostly from an active cold sore so if your friend didn’t have one you’re likely to be safe. My Mum sometimes got cold sores, but I never saw my Dad have one, I’ve never had them, and we were a very affectionate family.
Great idea protecting your little one by letting people know, and it will help her learn about her own boundaries too
