School uniform out of stock nightmare!!

Posting on here for traffic because I’m in full panic mode … totally my fault for leaving this so last minute. I though I had a load of age 4/5 school dresses from older DD for my new reception starter. Managed to finally get in the loft today and turns out I have 1!!
Everywhere online out of stock and says out of stock in store too apart from London Oxford street which has 1. (I live in Surrey)
contacted the school second hand shop lady but understandebly haven’t heard back yet

what do I do! 😭

Loads on vinted - new with / without tags.

May not be with you the beginning of term, but will be soon after, you could message the sellers to see if they can send ASAP.

I just checked out vinted too - over 100 listings for green gingham school dresses in sizes youre after.

I would search by recent listings as can be more likely to post quicker, and a message to seller asking for quick posting often works too

Ask in your older DD's class group if anyone has an outgrown dress or two. Wash (and dry) as needed. You'll be fine.

If you really can't find one I'd definitely ask the school. At our school they do regular uniform swaps when you can either swap outgrown uniform for a bigger size or pay a small donation. They always have loads of uniform which I presume they also use as spares if children need to unexpectedly change during the day.

So they may well have spares that you could have to tide you over.

There's loads on Amazon and on prime delivery too. No need to panic.

I only manged to get 2 polo shirts in jade Green but he's got loads from last year so will reuse them.
His jumpers can only be ordered from the school so got 5 of them just before they broke up.
I need 1 uniform a day for him he comes home filthy every single day.

I have just this evening out a couple of green gingham age 6 dresses on Vinted. There seem to be quite a few on there.

John Lewis looks like they have green gingham dresses in stock in 4, 5 & 6 year old sizes.

Is there a uniform bank locally? Ours had loads in for whatever you want to donate (cash or items).

So there’s loads available with next day delivery, the one she has could just be washed, the not-that-much older child has some that could do short term, she hasn’t asked anyone locally…

I bet the supermarkets have them in store or go to your biggest next and ask them to check the stockroom for Green gingham dresses

Appreciate all schools vary. At ours, the PSA/PTA sell second hand uniform and always have spares available at the start of term in case parents struggled to buy in time. Not sure if this is common to other schools? Do you have a PSA/PTA contact to check with?
