AIBU to think that this is Law of diminishing returns?
Jason Sudeikis had a three season arc in mind and that's done and dusted.
But apparently they're thinking of another season with Less Ted More Secondary characters/ensemble.
I mean, they could bring in a new manager I guess but can you really still call it Ted Lasso, if that's the case? Whilst I loved some of the characters (Trent, Dani, Roy, Jamie and Dr. Sharon) I'm not sure the show's got enough legs to do another season and it's a shame Jason is giving it a reluctant green light if it's run out of steam.

I'd be ok with the odd Christmas special/ similar. But it was a brilliant story, covered nearly over three great series.

I think it’s a bad idea. I loved the series but this is blatantly about milking it for everything they can. I hope I’m wrong.

Loved season 1 but I was pretty bored by the end of season 3. I think they should just let it go. It was fun while Rebecca was mean.

We adored the show. DH said it inspired people to be better. We felt sad that it ended, but like any great tale, it had an ending. I would watch a 4th series, but I would doubt its ability to be a uplifting.

I loved the first series, liked the second series apart from the U-turn that was Nate and found the third series so-so.
I also think I'm Hannah Waddhinghamed out, which is odd because I've only seen her do Eurovision, sing a song for the obituaries and seen her in the Fall Guy, so I'm not sure why she feels ubiquitous. Maybe because she's been built up as National Treasure in the press.

We loved it but like you I think it had its ending. DH disagrees and wants more.

Would be happy to see a Roy/Keeley spin off

I agree with others it feels like it came to a natural end. The third season was so weak compared to the previous two. I read they're waiting to negotiate with Jason Sudekis.

If it could undo series 3, I'm all for it.

They could have continued to entertain us with the back stories of the players, but instead we got 'treated' to Keely's PR agency yawnfest through the entire series.

It’s run its course. It started well but got worse as it went along. Loved Ted, he was adorable, as were many of the players, but some characters started to get far too much airtime: grunting Roy Kent, Keeley, the revolting guy that spat, and the other coach who was a complete charisma vacuum.

I loved Roy Kent. But agree he had unfinished business with the teacher.

It was fucking awful after season 1. Proper awful telegraphed storyline and by the numbers guff with terrible character development.

There's no merit to revisiting a finished story when it was already gone to pot

Although I think a lot of that had to di with the exodus to "shrinking"

I loved that. I knew Brett Goldstein wrote two episodes of that/co-wrote the pilot but wasn't he the only one of the cast involved?
Lasso couldn't have gone completely to pot with him doing other projects surely? Not with a Writer's Room?
Good news is - as well as Clooney/Pitt's film Wolfs which I'm looking forward to in September, there will be a second series of Shrinking in October which Brett Goldstein will also appear in apparently.
If it's released in one go, that's my October half-term sorted. If not, then Xmas.
I'm a cheapskate, I opt in and out of Apple/Disney/Now as things come up then I cancel again.

Apparently it took away a lot of the writers room/attention of Bill and Brett

I'd forgotten Bill Lawrence was involved in both.
I loved Scrubs and Cougar Town but the latter certainly went on for too long.

I totally agree with this.
I absolutely loved the 3 seasons, but the final episode tied everything up ... just enough. At the start, everyone was broken in some way. By the end of season 3, they were all healed, that character development was where the brilliance lay, but it is done now.
