Council graduate job interview tomorrow, what to expect..?

About 25 yrs since I last had a graduate job interview, that was in a totally different field so hoping someone might have more recent relevant experience with this.

Recently returned to college to retrain as an accountant via AAT. Have an interview tomorrow for a graduate training role with the council (CIPFA qual). Blurb says interview 30-60 miss & includes a test. No further details given.

What should I expect? I've had a previous council interview for a finance income role but that didn't include a test. I finished my course in July but feel really rusty on the content already as a) summer hols break has mashed my head & b) currently working in nhs in admin non-finance role.

Massively under-prepped as been away at a wedding this weekend, the festivities of which overran. I feel highly unlikely to get offered this position but would like to give it my best shot to get the most useful feedback afterwards for future applications.

Thank you for any help possible!

Always read up and know everything about the company interviewing you- that’s my best advice. And be enthusiastic. Worked for me going back into a graduate job 20 years after my first graduate job.
i now am civil servant which is different to some extent and is very strict in how they mark all answers.
good luck!

Have you got the job description? If so go onto chat GPT and ask the following question: What interview questions should I ask when interviewing a mature candidate against this job spec [copy and paste the whole job spec in here] at graduate level? Add any other details you have in. I have found this an incredible shortcut for interview prep! I have also been known to then follow up with the question what is the best answer for these interview questions 😆Good luck!
