To ask when did we start saying "I feel you"

Instead of I feel for you or

I know how you feel.

It's weird and needs to stop!

I first heard this in 2018. I don't like it, it sounds like sexual harassment!!

No idea when it started but I too hate it & agree with @MotherOfCrocodiles it sounds like SA, or at least creepy!!

I hate it. Especially with, ‘I see you’

Most likely another Americanism. I've never had it said to me, nor would I say it.

'I get you,' or 'I get that' or 'I see that.'

Never 'I feel you.'

”I feel you” is from AAVE and means “I agree with you” or “I understand you”.

Around here people might say “I get you”.

Mine is "a couple" without the "of". We went for a couple drinks/there's a couple books on the subject etc.
