To be scared about getting my belly button pierced?

Bit of context...lm in my 50s and feeling bit low about physique. Thought it might make me feel a bit younger and attractive in a funny sort of way. Good talking point at least! But I'm a bit scared! Am I stupid for even thinking about it at my age?! Would you do it? Any advice on cleansing etc?

I have mine done twice (top and bottom) have done for years. I had a wobble when I turned 30 and decided I was too old but that only lasted a week.
I don't wear anything that shows it off and I look/dress pretty conservatively so people men have been surprised I have piercings and tattoos.
Mine healed pretty quickly and easily. I don't remember doing anything special with them. Just don't wear anything that will snag it and watch sitting at tables/desks as it stings a bit if caught

@NailsHairNipsHeels Thank you for your moral support! I'm not planning to show it off all the time. Just want to do it for me. To know that I've had it done after thinking about it for such a long time. Thank you!

Do it! Just be careful about keeping it clean and only use the high grade piercing they offer. From bad experience, I changed mine too quickly to a cheap metal, I still have the scar to this day from how infected it became.

Im approaching 40 and had a fair few tattoos and a couple of new piercings done. Sod what anyone else thinks, it’s taken this long for me to feel comfortable in my own body and I’ll do as I please with it.

@LostTheMarble Yes, I was worrying about infection so will keep it VERY clean. Thank you for positive comment! Not brave enough to have a tattoo but have always wondered if there's a less sensitive part if I ever did. It would only be a small one! Need to seize the day and focus on belly button first. I've been so conservative all my life and for some reason just want to give the shy rebel in me a moment in the spotlight!

There is nothing to be scared of, really. It's just like any other piercing. You get plenty of cleaning advice from the body artist, just follow that.
Re tattoos, upper/lower arm is OK. Stay away from any bony areas and things like hands, feet, neck and buttocks and it's absolutely fine. I would consider a larger tattoo rather than a small one if you are committing to one. Small tattoos only ever look good if you have loads of them.

I say go for it!
I agree with pp's re keeping it clean and dry and fgs don't change the bar until it's probably healed, in fact I'd go as far as saying pop back to the piercing shop to get it changed the first time.
DD had hers done and she found it difficult to get the new bar in the first time, lots of tears of frustration etc.
As a side note, I took her to get her belly button pierced and the piercer had to stop midway to help me as I came over all waffy, thought I was going to faint, light headed, nauseous, I was actually groaning out loud, I wasn't much help / support at all😜
