What is this on my hip?

It’s been there a few weeks, I sort of forget about it until I touch it, bit sore to touch but not otherwise, not really itchy unless I start messing with it. Isn’t a bite 🤷🏻‍♀️
Sorry for the stretch marks!

Not really that sore only if I touch it a lot, push it, it’s like a bump/boil 🤷🏻‍♀️never had this before

Sorry, I appreciate its difficult to take your own photo but its a bit too unclear to be able to tell.

whyamiawakestillitssolate · 23/08/2024 18:18

Nasty under the skin spot that hasn’t formed a head yet? Is it rubbing against trousers or something which means it’s not getting better?

JC03745 · 23/08/2024 18:18

I agree it could be a spot/boil or a bite, but the pic is unclear and you said its not itchy. I'd put a hot compress on it and try squeezing it. Does it have a head?

Tootiredforallthat · 23/08/2024 18:25

I’ll try to get a clearer picture, my worry is it’s been there for a while

Looks like a spot.

Tootiredforallthat · 23/08/2024 18:31

Didn’t realise I had that many stretch marks 😬

Boil or cyst maybe? They can sit under your skin for ages - how does it respond to a boiling hot flannel/compress?

Tootiredforallthat · 23/08/2024 18:34

@sunsetsandboardwalks Ive not tried, I’ve just left it for now, thinking it will disappear, I will try tonight

Babyworriesreal · 23/08/2024 18:39

How do you know it's not a bite? A flea or tick bite?

purplehue · 23/08/2024 18:43

Ingrowing hair?

Member984815 · 23/08/2024 18:43

In grown hair?

Member984815 · 23/08/2024 18:45

@purplehue great minds

Coconutter24 · 23/08/2024 18:47

I voted YABU simply because you apologised for your stretch marks!! 🙂
Seriously though my first thought was an ingrown hair or a bite. Could you maybe show your pharmacist it and see if they have an idea?

angeldelite · 23/08/2024 18:49

It’s a giant commodore (or a big black head in other words).

Your GP can send you off to get it removed if you like.

Tootiredforallthat · 23/08/2024 20:07

@angeldelite Are you sure? Can it not go away by itself

Where would the GP send her to? Just curious?

Oldermum84 · 23/08/2024 21:16

I had one of these. Very tempting to try to lance it but can cause infections.

Heat can draw it out though - last time I had one I put heat on it (used one of those beany things you put in the microwave) with some folded kitchen roll in between. The pus literally came out through the skin it was lovely ha! (Kitchen roll soaked it up). Did this over and over until it went.

Tootiredforallthat · 23/08/2024 22:20

@Oldermum84 🙈 🤢 😂

It looks nothing like that to me Confused

StirlingMallory · 23/08/2024 22:35

Looks like a boil that hasn't come to a head yet. Magnesium sulphate paste & a large plaster over it should draw out the gunk.

Lavender14 · 23/08/2024 22:36

Absolutely nothing wrong with stretch marks op, they're perfectly normal and the majority of us have them.

I'd be inclined to put heat on it to see if you can draw anything out.

Glorious! Get thee to Sporner Corner 😁

A clinic that performs minor surgery.

I spelt it wrong, it’s a giant comedone, that’s what the doctors called it.
