AIBU to ask for a kick

Ive been really run down and feeling low over the last year. I feel quick sick of myself. I've lost a stone but have another 1.5 stone I'd like to lose still. I really want to get myself going again and decided I would get back into a previous interest. I used to do kickboxing about 15 years but haven't been involved in it for ages. I finally motivated myself to try a free trial karate class (something I've wanted to do for a while). I really enjoyed it and can afford the monthly sign up costs etc. But I have this pitted feeling that I'm just wasting money, I'm too old to get into karate now, I won't be able to learn and I'm best to just cancel and sit at home watching TV. My self motivation is terrible at the moment and I'm just so tired. Im feeling very nervous and it just feels easier to run and hide.

AIBU to ask for a kick of motivated. Anyone got any stories of new things they've tried or how they got out of a rut.

Friend of mine got into Taekwondo in her 30’s. She went with her SEN son, to give him confidence, and she really took to it.

You don't have to win the Olympics or get a 7th Dan blackbelt, you just have to enjoy it - enjoying it is what makes it worth every penny (plus the benefits to fitness, strength and flexibility will be amazing).

Did you do Muay Thai? I loved it - the training was absolutely brutal, but the buzz was incredible. To me, Karate was far more beautiful though, really putting the Art in Martial Arts and I could watch the Sensei for hours.

Oh, yeah, the kick you asked for - bog standard roundhouse do you?
