Looking at someone’s story

On Fb

If you see the stories they’ve posted ok their actual Fb page (not their stories in the circle thing)
Will it show up as you having viewed them?

@Oohmegrapes But if you’re viewing it on their page too? I’ve noticed they come up on people’s actual pages too now, so it’s not as if you’re actually clicking on their stories in the circle?

Yes I know what you mean, then I think it's yes they'll see you've viewed it

ForKeenDeer · 22/08/2024 16:01

you’ve got to view the whole thing, so if you’re scrolling and don’t stop to watch the whole thing then it’s not classed view.

Toowindyoutthere · 22/08/2024 16:11

@Oohmegrapes They are on my friends list though

@ForKeenDeer So I was on their actual page and the story just seems to play, I was able to see it on their page but didn’t click on the actual story-if that makes sense

@Oohmegrapes I have my reasons 😅

If you didn't click into it then no I don't think they will see you've viewed it

SnobblyBobbly · 22/08/2024 16:28

I never use or look at stories. I feel like I'd be expected to react because they know I've seen it, even if it's not something I feel the need to react on.

Also the way they run straight into the next, so I end up looking at things I don't really want to.

Toowindyoutthere · 22/08/2024 16:46

@Liv999 I was hoping for that, but it’s weird they allow them on the page for people to see then

@Oohmegrapes I have my reasons 😅

im sure you have to click on it for it to be viewed. I spent a couple of hours doing some research 😂 I might do a story soon and ask a close friend to check for me 😬

Toowindyoutthere · 22/08/2024 16:55

@ForKeenDeer yes I thought this too 😂

dobblevit · 22/08/2024 16:58

Yeah but views will now be meaningless

Toowindyoutthere · 22/08/2024 17:54

@dobblevit What do you mean?

OP posts:
Raaraathelionrah · 22/08/2024 17:55

Yeah rhey can see you’ve looked. If they post a few in the last 24 hours they can see who has seen each one.

Same with instagram.

Sometimes I want to see what people post I’m on their stories but don’t want them to think I stalk them 🤣

dobblevit · 22/08/2024 17:59

Toowindyoutthere · 22/08/2024 17:54

@dobblevit What do you mean?

If I'm being forced to view it then I'm not choosing to view it so what's the point

Toowindyoutthere · 22/08/2024 18:25

@Raaraathelionrah But I don’t mean the actual circle, on their Fb profile page, without clicking on the story, it’s on the page for a bit

ItsMintUpNorth · 22/08/2024 18:26

I've been wondering this too, I'm not really bothered but was curious if ones that just pop up in my 'news feed' show me as having viewed them.
