Would this make you feel positive - interview related..

During an interview I said I have no professional experience in the role but that I'm very willing to carry out any training etc.. The person interviewing me said 'well, everyone's got to start somewhere' would you this make you feel positive? Before he said that, I thought maybe I've not got much of a chance due to lack of experience so I'm thinking maybe this is a good sign that its not the be all and end all??

It is very hard to know whether he just said this as an off the cuff comment, or to make you feel better or if it really means he is open to taking a chance on you. I hope he meant it genuinely but as you don’t probably know how well the other candidates have done, you will just have to
wait and see I guess. Best of luck, hope you get good news.

I think it was a kind thing for them to say but I wouldn't use it as an indicator of whether you're successful.

Personally I wouldn't say that you have no professional experience, but instead focus on the transferable skills that you do have.

Thank you. I did also talk about transferable skills as this was actually one of the questions after. But the first question was sort of tell me about yourself, what experience do you have that relates to the position

I should find out in the next couple of days. I'm struggling to concentrate on anything else as this job would have a big impact on my life if I was to be successful .. Just trying not to get in my head too much about it!
