Should I not have said this?

At a job interview where I met the staff members after being interviewed. We then went back to the office. The job is in childcare within the nursery at my local hospital.. I actually knew one of the staff because she used to look after my own Dson a few years ago. We went back to the office and I had a general friendly kind of chit chat with the interviewing panel after meeting the staff and got onto the topic of me having my own Dson and one of the panel asked me went nursery he used to go to. and I told them without thinking told them that Georgia(name change) used to look after my Dson. Should I not have said this? Is it bad to say you already know a member of staff?

I wouldn't have thought so but they will likely ask the member of staff about you

I don't think it's an issue unless 'Georgia' was also on the interview panel in which case you may have made things a bit awkward

Thank you, that's reassuring. She wasn't on the panel, just met her as I got to meet the other nursery staff. She used to work at the nursery my Dson went too and was his key worker!

Think, given she was your DS key worker, it would have been more odd not to mention you knew her. I wouldn’t give it another thought, it shouldn’t be an issue at all.
