To know think the chances are slim?

Found a job I’m very interested in.. applied and was interviewed last week. Went back to the job post today from when it was originally posted a few weeks ago. Noticed a member of staff who I do know works there has tagged her friend in it and said ‘this is that available role’. So now I think my chances are slim because a member of staff there may have had a friend apply for the role?

Maybe there's a deadline for applications and they are still working their way through. A lot of companies will not offer until all applicants are seen.

I wouldn’t make any assumptions at all. Go for it and see what happens.

Said friend may be well known to the hiring team as bloody useless for the role, you have no idea. Keep going!
