Brag away, that’s fantastic!

Throckmorton · 16/08/2024 18:12

Awesome! Get bragging right now!!

RichardMarxisinnocent · 16/08/2024 18:20

I am going to assume this is something other than what google suggests, which is something relating to avoiding tax while selling cars in the USA? I assume it's something like a job promotion where you're being promoted by 4 grades??? If so congratulations, that seems a massive jump.

MounjaroUser · 16/08/2024 18:25

That's amazing! Were you in too low a level job before?

TikehauLilly · 16/08/2024 18:26

Congratulations 🎊

I was once on that level (more or less) but hadn't been able to get back on it for 6 years!

Well done.
Good news on this forum for once.

HotCrossBunplease · 16/08/2024 18:54

You obviously don’t work in communications. Well done, but please don’t be too disappointed when nobody outside your industry has any idea how high you rank! It’s like my civil service friend always talking about grades, I can never remember if low numbers are better than high ones or vice versa.

And all the “vice presidents” in the world of finance whose Mums think they are second-in -command at the bank!

I actually thought this was going to be about athletics when I clicked!

Yes in my industry VP is just below C suite... Very different to banks. In my industry there's only director between my new role and VP.

I remember being very confused as I had acquaintances from university who were VPs within a few years of leaving university, but then had another friend who joined Amazon where VPs are (as far as I can tell) super super senior.

I get so frustrated by job descriptions that use mystery titles that mean different things in different places, then opaque explanations of what they actually want from you and sometimes, to top it off, no indication of the pay.

Head of Department makes sense to me as a title (but maybe that's because that does exist in my industry!).

Congratulations on the job appointment OP!

I'm in finance which is much less exciting but apparently just as mysterious.

😂 yes. Lots of obfuscatory titles and meaningless roles, I’m sure!
