After putting on my dress this morning I realised I had no clean pants. No big deal I thought, I’ll stick a wash on and as I’m WFH it doesn’t matter. After lunch I needed to pop super quickly to the shops, I just hadn’t bothered with pants by this point in the day and didn’t want to ‘waste’ a clean pair.

BIG MISTAKE

It is a windy day in London which I didn’t really realise until I left the house. Shop visit was fine, drove there, grab my bits and drove home.

As I was walking the tiny distance from my car to my front door my neighbour was leaving his house. I don’t know them that well but always say hello. I waved broadly and at that exact second….yep, a gust of wind blew my skirt right up.

Now I can’t be 100% sure but there is a good chance I just flashed my neighbour. What the fuck do I do!!??

btw I NEVER usually go without pants.

AIBU to pack a bag and leave forever right now.

Don't do anything, it's highly unlikely either of you are ever going to mention it or stick a sign in your window that says 'sorry that you saw my muff'.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/08/2024 17:35

Don’t do anything, just brazen it out. They might have seen something, they might not, too late now.

Bannedontherun · 15/08/2024 19:02

God this made me laugh style it out, hopefully you were well groomed down below.

I laughed where you said that you "grabbed your bits" in the shop!

Re neighbour- least said, soonest mended, I think!

Parkmybentley · 15/08/2024 19:10

If you have an actual muff then no one would notice if they were far away. It would look like black pants ?
If clean shaven or up close then yeah awks

Isn’t grabbing your bits a bit unhygienic to do in public without pants?

Polkadottydot · 15/08/2024 19:12

I'd wink saucily at the neighbour next time I saw them and style it out. In my head. I'd actually stay in for around 3 years.

Blankfaced · 15/08/2024 19:50

I have muff - but it’s light!

Well at it was a Marilyn Munroe type of exposure, relieved to learn you didn't have a erm naked job

HappyLittleNarwhal · 15/08/2024 20:18

Oh lord.

You can only go commando with trousers or a long skirt on.

That's just facts.

I often go out knickerless in summer when wearing longer dresses and the scenario you have outlined is one of my major fears so I usually have my arms clamped to my sides.

Alternatively we could take a tip from the Royal Family - Royal ladies always have small weights sewn into the hems of their skirts apparently, to avoid embarrassing flashes of knicker as they descend aeroplane steps etc
