I had my first child at 17 and although I worked on and off in bars I never had a career or any qualifications.
When I met dh my child was 11 and we started a family of our own, I am now 53 and my youngest is going up to secondary school.
I am so worried about trying to find employment with no experience, will anyone even want to employ me and how will I cope in the work place?
I don't even know what type of work I will be any good at.
How do I sell myself at an interview?
I have no experience with self discipline or authority and I'm quite laid back as a result.

I'm the same age and never not worked ! Did you not want to work?
I'd start with volunteering to get some confidence

I was going to suggest volunteering too

After a big gap being a SAHP, I realised I accumulated a lot of skills! I overlooked them, didn’t mentioned any until I started working as a PA and realised how useful they were. I work for a busy individual who needed his life organised. Things like patience, clear communication, organisation, admin management, even crafts (putting together invites for a big event) came very handy.
You need to find a good fit and you’ll realise you can do a lot. My only advise: just try and see. Good luck!
