The Canary Islands are probably your best bet but they’re a 4.5 hour flight.

tiggergoesbounce · 14/08/2024 21:02

Of course they exist, budget is probably important, but there will be loads.

Isseywith3witchycats · 14/08/2024 21:03

Of course it does any of the Greek islands, Cyprus , Turkey do a search holiday end May 2025 and put in anywhere and east midlands airport and loads will come up then go to your type of holiday and budget

PickledMuffin · 14/08/2024 21:07

Balearic's are a good bet also. been there a few times in May and it was hot!

Redjammies · 14/08/2024 21:08

Portugal?

Molop · 14/08/2024 21:10

Algarve is only 2.5 hrs away and always that temperature when we have been at the end of May. Saying that most places in the med are around that by the end of May. I was in Ibiza the first week of June last year at it was 27/28.

Drigante · 14/08/2024 21:13

Malta? I'd have thought most of the Med would meet this brief though so maybe I'm missing something.

Iasonnas · 14/08/2024 21:14

"The Canary Islands are probably your best bet but they’re a 4.5 hour flight."

Birmingham to Tenerife is generally 3 hours 50 or thereabouts

mrssunshinexxx · 14/08/2024 21:15

Spain

halava · 14/08/2024 21:16

Anywhere in the Southern Med region will be lovely, most probably warmer than 24 degrees, but Algarve or Lisbon coast may be around the temps you mention due to the Atlantic influence.

sillylittlethings · 14/08/2024 21:16

Croatia

OP said under 4 hours flight, most of those places are all over 4 hours.

RockGirl · 14/08/2024 21:35

Gibraltar
Malaga
Or anywhere in the south of Sapin really

PurpleFlower1983 · 14/08/2024 21:36

Greek islands.

Jellyrose20 · 14/08/2024 21:41

When I look up the temp of most places mentioned it says closer to 19 to low 20s so it is good to hear people have had warmer experiences.
Just to clarify I'm not being lazy/ stupid. I have researched and everywhere seems to say lower temps unless we fly over 4 hours.

Do you want a beach?

Mainland Spain is hotter than the coast usually. I went to Seville in April and it was 30 degrees every day. No beach but the hotel had a pool.

Ineffable23 · 14/08/2024 21:48

Jerez in southern Spain is lovely. It has summer flights from Stansted, not sure about the midlands but it isn't too far from Seville anyway.

It's an average high of 26 in May and 30 in June, so late May should be eminently doable.

DecafDodger · 14/08/2024 21:49

I often go to Alicante end of May and it has always been properly hot. You can check the actual weather, this year it was 25-30 degrees end of May.

Raree · 14/08/2024 21:53

Kos

mrsfollowill · 14/08/2024 21:54

Malta, Croatia - 27c+ 3hrs- Rhodes 27c - 4 hrs. All from East Midlands or Leeds Bradford - the averages they state are nearly always way under the reality ime! These are all recent personal experience- don't know if we just got lucky? Dubrovnik was scorching (for me!) 28-30c. I'd hate to be there in August.

Ratherbeaspoonthanafork · 14/08/2024 21:56

Malta
Dubrovnik
Sicily
Malaga
Malta
Algarve

Iasonnas · 14/08/2024 22:03

"OP said under 4 hours flight, most of those places are all over 4 hours."

None of those places are over 4 hours flight from the midlands.

Skiathos - 2 hours 58 minutes
Zakinthos - 3 hours 15 minutes
Antalya - 3 hours 45 minutes
Dalaman- 3 hours 35 minutes

Those are just the 4 most recent flights from BHX

OneBadKitty · 14/08/2024 22:04

Cyprus is always hot at the end of May. We used to go every year the week after half term- so first week in June and it was near to 30 degrees in the afternoons and warm enough to sit out in the evenings in short sleeves.

Drigante · 14/08/2024 22:07

Jellyrose20 · 14/08/2024 21:41

Average temps overall are very different from typical daytime temp though. Do you need the average of night and day to be over 24? That would prob make the typical daytime temp closer to 28 or 30, very roughly.

I still reckon Malta would tick all your boxes.

Deliaskis · 14/08/2024 22:08

We're frequently in Greece (Ionian so North Western) that time of year and it's always lovely and warm. Kefallonia or Corfu both well under 4 hours and plenty warm enough.
