To think moving here was a big mistake

so we exchanged houses about 5 weeks ago Really lovely house viewed it several times and it seemed perfect . However having been here for 5 weeks the noise from one neighbour had crept up . Loud music it sounds like no carpet on the stairs . My son who is working nights has just been woken up by the music and he did bang on the wall so it’s now gone quiet . I hate falling out with neighbours

There's usually a reason why a good house in a good location is on for exchange and it would seem you've found the reason. Can you get onto the housing association and get complaining? Your neighbours clearly have no problems falling out with you or they'd be more considerate so pay no mind to falling out with them.

Yes I will email them now it’s a shame as the house is lovely and the area is beautiful as well .

Noise from stairs can't be that often.

Obviously loud music is inconsiderate but your son will have to buy some earplugs he can't expect silence in the day.....

He is stopping the nights soon as if affected social life apparently. We don’t expect silence all the time but the music is loud. I also think these houses have really thin walls which doesn’t help

You can’t expect silence in the day! If you’re in a terraced house then you’re going to hear a certain amount of noise

as mentioned noise during the day doesn’t bother me but this was loud, my son was asleep and it woke him up . He then banged on the wall and it went quiet. I don’t expect to live here in total silence
