To take almost 5 year old to Thorpe Park?

I don't drive and Thorpe Park is the easiest theme park for me to get to. It would also be cheaper than other parks, as children under 1.2 metres go free. Just wondering if it would be worth it for DD. Has anyone taken a young child to Thorpe Park and found that there is enough to do? Thanks!

How tall is he? If under 1.1 (which I’m assuming he is) a lot of the little rides will be out of bounds. Under 0.9m and he can’t go on any.

BarbaraVineFan · 11/08/2024 09:50

She is just over 1.1m.

There’s a reason he’s free, it’s because there’s very little for him there. i looked and literally about 4 rides.

Chessington would be better and still quite close

modgepodge · 11/08/2024 09:56

Ok if over 1.1, there’s a bit more, I think about 7 or 8 rides. But some of them are quite big ones so depends whether she is a thrill seeker!

honestly I wouldn’t bother. Even just paying for you, it’s a lot to pay to only be able to go on a few rides.

ThePoshUns · 11/08/2024 09:56

I would say Thorpe park is aimed at thrill seekers. It's a while since I've e been but I don't recall there being much if anything for little children. Can you get to Legoland?

WickerMam · 11/08/2024 09:57

My family are huge theme park fans, and won't be going to Thorpe Park until my youngest is 1.4m. It's really not aimed at that age.

TemuRoyal · 11/08/2024 09:58

There is the train and the teacups and something else. I found it was either for mega thrill seekers or little ones and not much in between for more moderate rides.

LuckysDadsHat · 11/08/2024 10:00

Nope, pointless. Go to Chessington instead.

Oblomov24 · 11/08/2024 10:10

Don't. I live right by it and both my ds's and all their friends have annual passes. It's not suitable for one so young. And I'm a stealth lover myself!

Carebearsonmybed · 11/08/2024 10:11

Pointless.

BarbaraVineFan · 11/08/2024 10:56

OK thanks everyone, that's pretty unanimous! We have already been to Legoland and I was looking for somewhere different. Chessington looks awesome but it is really hard to get to unfortunately!
