To ask about tummy tucks and liposuction

I'm seriously looking into this and would love to hear from anyone who has had this.

How much did it cost in total and did you have any other work done at the same time?

Were you happy with the results?

How was recovery for you and how long did it take?

I'm tempted to include breast implants as mine are very small, saggy and a full cup size in difference.

Any advice, tips or before and after pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I had a tummy tuck and lipo on my waist.

My stomach muscles were stretched after my kids and I ended up with a horrible apron that came down to my thighs. It made me feel sick.

The surgeon took off 5 pounds, plus the lipo. Since then I've lost another three stone maybe, because I was very motivated to do so.

I feel amazing. Wish I'd done it ten years ago, but in reality the recovery would have been too hard with young kids.

Recovery was ok - first week I'd say wasn't much fun - and I got an infection in part of my wound but the aftercare was excellent.

Four years on I'm delighted every day that I was brave enough to do it; it's genuinely changed my life in almost every way because I'm much more confident.

The cost was about £6k although prices went up just after that due to the private hospitals increases, so I believe now the same surgeon would change about £7.5k.

The lipo was actually the weirdest part in recovery - it felt quite raw, like bruising and grazing on the inside, which made me feel a bit icky and queasy. But so so so so worth it.

Thank you for sharing. I don't have young children, it's just me and my partner so just myself to look after in recovery.

I work full time though and it's a half an hour walk there and the same back, but an office job.

Hmm no way. You'd need time off for sure. I went back to work from home after about five days but that was a bit stupid tbh.

Thanks for posting this - following as I need liposuction. I think about it every single day, but scared that it’ll go wrong and vanity will bring a premature end. I know that kind of thinking is irrational.

What’s the most that can be done in one go. Sorry to be crude, but I have no idea - do they charge by weight removed? I think £8k is ok actually as I thought it’d be more.

HappyLittleNarwhal · 10/08/2024 17:45

They just charge by the procedure as far as I know? I mean, I don't know if he charged extra because I was a bit bigger at the time, maybe he did.

I think he was surprised by the amount of fat he removed actually.

There's a person I follow on instagram who had this done a documented it all

She had a lost a huge amount of weight and wanted the excess skin removal

The recovery looked brutal

It's mellymayworld it I think on insta

DeadpoolWolverine · 11/08/2024 06:44

I can't find that account on Instagram.
I've watched a lot of Tik Toks and it looks pretty scary.

Think it's mellymaysworld

Honestly it's a lot but I'd do it again this minute if I had to.

Go onto the tummy tuck uk Facebook group. I'd love this done. I've even chosen my surgeon but no where near ready to have the money to pay for it yet.

Correct sorry for typo

I don’t need a tuck but I do think about lipo a lot. There’s ones called Vaser Lipo I believe that is cheaper and has minimal recovery (one week off work type) couple of stitches. Seems to start around £3k which I would absolutely do if I had the money free

Following as I would love a recommendation. Can't find that Fbk group mentioned.
