To ask you to plan our holiday? 😆

DH has decided he'd like to go away for our anniversary in mid-August. We don't mind if the dates actually overlap or not.

We had the kitchen done instead of a holiday so we'd need to keep it on the cheaper side, but we do have BA points & a companion voucher. The holiday would be for me, DH and 2-year-old DS. We usually do city breaks but would be happy with beaches too.

DS has been to Andalucia 4x, Valencia 2x, Madrid 1x, Lisbon 2x, Monaco 1x and Nice 1x... He's enjoyed them all. He likes people and playgrounds.

Any suggestions on where to look? I do appreciate this may not be possible given it's the summer holiday and quite last minute, but it's worth a try!

Toddlers are happy anywhere. Where would you like to go? Which airport are you near?

Bearing in mind your (very well traveled!) 2 year old, avoid anywhere savagely hot at the moment, like Seville or Granada.

We had a lovely break in Malaga which is super nice.

I can't really speak to little kid friendly as mine are older, but there are lots of handy toddle/pushing places - the boardwalk along the beach, plus a playground, the old town, the harbour, the fort...

The airport is also super close to the town, so no long transfer.

It's a really nice mix of beach and town and culture and is very pleasant (although I imagine hot hot hot now).

I would suggest the Algarve.

Mid August will be super hot in a lot of places so I'd probably want to head north - maybe Vilnius or Copenhagen?
