well at least it was 'you are next in line' - I rang Canon tech support about my camera yesterday, and got told 'you are 10th in line, you will be answered in approx. 7 minutes'

then got left on the line for like 15 minutes.

Not bad for a hospital then

but yes, ikwym. I want person to person contact back

oooh just re-read, you got left for 24 minutes. Ouch! you win !!!!!!

Psychomum5 · 15/04/2008 10:12

at least you get a nice voice telling you where in the queue you are.....most 'voices' just say "your call is very important to us, please hold while we wait for an operator to answer you"......every sodding ten seconds, for over an hour at times.

I wish to strangle said voice, and sadly, by the time I am answered, the person on the other end gets a mouthful of frustration from me!

PellMell · 15/04/2008 10:14

The next in line bit really confused me....if I was next why was I still next for another 20 odd minutes?
I was through to the appointments dept and this is where I stayed
I ended up with the land line at one ear (still telling me I was next) and my mobile on the other ringing the main switchboard.
I asked that they put me directly to the opthalmic dept as that is where the appointment was for and thay said no!
After I pleaded they did actually put me through.

but you could have been next, and the previous person was having a very long rant about being on hold for so long before they got to the point of their actual phonecall!!!!

ya never know

They probably only have one person answering patients calls, and 10 managers going off for lunch.
