Every MN page is interspersed with ads disguised as threads, which are flagged as 'Promoted'.

I get eight or nine per page, and almost all of them are offering me ways to get my kids to save up money. I mean, every page, every time, for weeks now.

Does everyone else get those, and at that kind of frequency, or have I done something to suggest to the ad-algorithm that my children are going to need something put aside for a pretty imminent rainy day?

I find they ignoring...one was asking why you not a member of the national trust...I went on to give an opinion and found it an ad. Puts me off using mumsnet which isn't a bad thing.

Yes and they’re extremely tedious. Especially when they’re so similar. My children are long past the stage of saving their pocket money.

YouveGotAFastCar · 06/08/2024 13:20

I presume so. I haven't seen any pocket money ones but have loads about being a National Trust member, what I missed at the Boots Toddler event, etc.

Sarvanga24 · 06/08/2024 13:23

They are so dull and repetitive, and filling in the 'don't show me this any more' info is a waste of time as it makes no difference.

Do the advertisers/Mumsnet not realise that they send people in the opposite direction? I'll certainly NEVER darken the door of a Bill's again, I'm sick of the sight of the name.😆

I get the save money ones too.

KrisAkabusi · 06/08/2024 14:08

It's all National Trust ads today. It was getting your kids to save for most of last week. I'm also getting "How much to adopt a dog", and "Get AIBU on Whatsapp" a lot.

The one offering to make ironing blissful makes me want to delete my account.

FUCK.
OFF.
