To think there is no point trying to sleep now

It is 4:30am and I need to be up at 8.

Am I being unreasonable to think it would be better to just stay awake instead of going to sleep, feeling awful when I've got to wake up and knowing I will potentially sleep through my alarm.

I could easily fall asleep now but I'm dreading how tired I will feel when the alarm goes, that is if I wake up!

YABU - some sleep is better than no sleep regardless of the risk of sleeping through.

YANBU - at least you're awake now and won't miss your alarm, just go get a coffee!

Sleep . I'm in the same position but no chance of being able to sleep. If I could sleep not until 8 I'd be fine.

Sleep, or at least doze.

A trick I have taught myself is to drink a large glass of water when I need to get up in a couple of hours because then my bladder will wake me up!

I'm debating the same - flight delayed by 6 hours, I'll be back at 7.45, doctors appointment at 10 - wonder if I'd be best staying awake. I definitely need to shower before I go (will be revealing all when I get there).
