Comments like these along with the eye roll could be why it’s not taken seriously.

I don’t think people generally think the racism against white people doesn’t exist but surely you can see it is totally different. White people do not have a history of being oppressed like black people have solely for their skin colour. White people are not thought to be ‘lesser’ because of their skin colour. As a white woman I have never had to worry that I will be stopped by police because I am white, followed round a shop because I am white, and any other number of things that black people and other non white people experience in every day life.

I agree this woman is out of order for what she has said but it is in no way comparable to what black people face every single day.

ShouldhavebeencalledAppollo · 03/08/2024 10:59

I am mixed race. Lots of people think racism doesn’t exist towards white people. My Dad doesn’t speak to several family members who believe they can’t be racist towards me (mum was white) because I am ‘half white so might as well be all white’ and they are not white.

Of course you can be racist towards white people. However, I do think it can be very different. I am not going to say it’s ‘better’. But I think it’s complex.

I think racism towards anyone causes division and I am sick of seeing it. From all demographics. And I am sick to death of seeing women attacking other women on the basis of race. Again from all demographics.

I disagree, the Irish were subjected to ethnic bigotry in the UK and in their own country for generations. We also have hate crimes against people from Eastern European countries such as the Roma and Polish. Jewish people have suffered extraordinary amounts of hatred for centuries, culminating in a genocide.

Bigotry is wrong; there is no acceptable hierarchy of bigotry. You don't mock a woman on her knees who has just had her hopes dashed and race bait.

Aeropostale · 03/08/2024 11:06

@MagentaRocks we have to decide if we want a fairer society for all of us or if it's ok to be racist and bigoted if you have a certain skin colour.

This. ^ And I do agree somewhat with the OP. This thread won't last long though, because this is not allowed to be discussed on here for some reason. I wish mumsnet would allow these discussions, and not zap them as soon as anyone mentions any bigotry towards white people.

White people should be allowed an opinion, and to feel aggrieved about certain things, without being shut down, (and the thread deleted,) purely because some people don't like that they're hearing. If you don't like the thread, hide it.

Dr Shola is a race/gender-baiting idiot, out for a quick buck, her argument:
"It's the audacity for me - expecting Imane to give up on her dreams of being an Olympic champion for another woman just because you don't like how God made her!"
Is not very articulate; you can literally turn it around.

Agree. I have no words to explain what I think of Shola. They would be colourful though, I can tell you that.

@HeySummerWhereAreYou I was blissfully unaware of her existence until this thread, just did a quick dive.

Yeah... She really not a very nice person IMO, and I don't know how she gets away with what she says all the time.

She reminds me somewhat of a female version of Andrew Tate.

HeySummerWhereAreYou · 03/08/2024 12:02

I see this thread isn't gaining much traction. Probably because most people are too afraid to speak up, and say what they think. (When it comes to this subject.)

Sadly I can't stick around, as I am off to the beach with DH. I reckon this thread will be zapped by then! Have a nice day everyone! Smile

Strange you should say that because I looked her up and she professes to be an advocate of women's rights!

What ‘colour’ where Jewish people when they were ‘oppressed’ and persecuted.

I commented on the thread earlier. But just after my adult dd called me.

I am mixed race. Her dad is white and so she appears to be white. She was staying at my dad last night and was walking to his house and a car pulled up with some men in who offered her a lift. When she declined they started shouting abuse at her. Calling her racist and misogynistic names like ‘white bitch’.

She ended up knocking a nearby door asking for help. Dad then went and picked her up. The police are involved. It’s become quite an issue in the area. And yes she was crying. And yes some men who aren’t white are being looked for. I would lose my shit if anyone said ‘oh look white woman tears being dangerous to men who aren’t white’

Because that’s what the term originally referred to. White women who use claim to be in danger from men who aren’t white to get them in trouble or lynched etc.

notagdfriend · 03/08/2024 14:50

Racism exists. It can be to any ethnicity. But it's not all the same . A white person on the receiving end of racism is not the same as a black person or an Asian person.

Of course it's the same. The millions of Jews rounded up and gassed, were the subject of systemic dehumanisation and racism. The Serbs tried to ethnically cleanse the Bosnians. Travellers and gypsies are subject to daily racism.

The woman is generally vile. And a bit thick also. Which is why she has had to make a living out of race baiting.

It’s is unfathomable that people don’t question how someone claims to be advocating for women’s rights yet supporting a man for knocking seven bells out of a woman.

Can a ‘progressive’ explain how that amounts to advocating for woman.

Very good question. She does not support women.

2024onwardsandup · 03/08/2024 22:29

@MagentaRocks have you been to Japan, China….??

of course racism against white people
exists

the irony of course in denying that is that it just shows that the world is being looked st
tbroigh a white lense - where a society in which white people don’t have all the power is unimaginable

100% agree. I have no words to describe how much I loathe this woman. I loathe her as much as Andrew Tate. As I said earlier, she reminds me of him in many ways. Just so full of hate and vitriol.

Not only was she jubilant that the Algerian boxer won, she was crowing over the Italian on her knees, in pain, crying. When interviewed, she said she feared for her life. What kind of feminist gloats over a woman in pain and distress?
