Worried about my period cycle

The last few months have been very odd for me period wise. I’ve just turned 35 so I don’t see how I can be in perimenopause.

End of May I had a period after a very random 17 day cycle, then in June it was 23 days again. Previous to that’s it’s been 25/26 and 27 at the longest in the past 6 months.

I’m now on day 27 of my cycle this month and no bleeding has started yet. I had symptoms like heavy and painful boobs, cramps and problems with my mood about 3 or 4 days ago, so I thought it was imminient. Now nothing except some mild lower back pain and tiredness.
My tracker says I’m 4 days late but that’s going by the average of my recent cycles.

Can anyone offer any advice for me on this?

You can definitely be in perimenopause at the age of 35.

Even though my mum wasn’t? I thought it normally followed that way

Yes - what age your mum experienced it is largely irrelevant. Genetics do play a small part but it's no guarantee that you'll have the same experience.

I would keep a log of your symptoms and cycles for a few months and go see your GP. I'm currently doing the same thing as I've been getting a few peri symptoms but not enough to make me sure either way.

Will the GP do a blood test?

My GP says bloods no good for confirming peri, it's symptom based.
I'm 44 and believe I'm peri. My cycle was a short but consistent 23 days until about a year ago. I also have occasional night sweats, monthly rages and depths of despair emotions.
I'm using a supplement called Health&Her Perimenopause Mind+ which seems to have balanced the emotional side for me but my cycle is unpredictable now as you can see from picture.

35 is young but not too young. Have you had children (if you want them)? I'd see the GP if this was a concern.

@NCfor24

Yes I had my son 6 years ago and not wanting any more.

Your cycles sound like mine. So maybe I am peri but didn’t expect it so early.

I had this with mine a while back could be a 25 day cycle one month then 35 day another , I mentioned it to the practice nurse and she said it was normal at my age i was mid 30s, I'm fairly regular now at 29 days for the last few years .

Have you been very stressed or exhausted lately? Or on a low calorie diet? My periods went haywire when I experienced all of the above. There’s a supplement called Premeze Agnus Castus (really good reviews on Amazon) which helps to get your cycle back in a regular pattern

Will the GP do a blood test?

They can but it might not show anything relevant - peri is generally diagnosed via symptoms and by ruling out other conditions like fibroids or polyps.
