Worried about babies hands

I have health anxiety so not sure if I'm being unreasonable.

My baby was born at 34 weeks and had a short stay in NICU ( they did brain ultrasound during this time and all was normal )

I've got a concern about cerebral palsy but no one is listening to me, he is now 4 months but 2.5 months corrected.

I've noticed he always puts his left hand in his mouth and not his right ( is this early hand preference :( ) & his head is still a little wobbly when sat up / tummy time

He could be left handed, I really don't remember if mine had a preference, probably didn't even notice!

It’s fairly normal for their head to be wobbly when propped up to sitting, that’s why it’s not recommended for them to be forward facing in a carrier at 4 months.

The wobbliness is completely normal - my little one was born at 36 weeks and was far older than 4 months when they started to manage tummy time. Sitting alone was only around 10 months .

Completely fine now.

For the hand, does your baby do anything else with its right hand? Move it or wrap his fingers around yours? Our baby was also showing more things with the left hand early on but is a futm right-hander now. Everything you mention sounds normal.

My boy was a thumb sucker and never sucked left thumb, always the right. So I'd say it's the same things he finds comfort from one hand.

If you're worried about neck issues then take to a peadeatric physio, he might have a touch of torticollis.
