Buying a 3 year old a watch?

My great nephew loves my Apple Watch, the buttons and lights etc. Always plays with it when I see him. His third Birthday is soon and I thought of buying him this. I know he’s too young to tell the time but thought he’d like it and not an expensive present. I don’t have kids so sometimes overthink present buying. Is it silly to buy a 3 year old this?

I think that's a great present! How much is it and does it fit in with your normal gift budget range?

DH bought DD a watch when she was 4 and she loves it. Has no idea how to tell the time (we're working on it!) but likes to run around with it on, stopping every now and then to consult the watch and announcing "it's ten past nine" or "it's half past fourteen". It's cute and it makes her happy. I'd go for it

It's not silly, my dd has a similar paw patrol one, nearly 4yo.

Because it's a digital one she can just about read the numbers and can understand eg "we will do xyz when the first number is a 2". So I think it's great

Great. Thanks so much for the very quick replies! It’s only £8 on Amazon. Great buy. I’d already bought him his bigger present but conscious that nobody’s house need loads more large clutter 😂 so thought someone small would be ideal.

I heard that many children can't tell the time on an analogue clock now. Maybe it's not taught in schools? SoI think it would be good that the watch has an analogue display option - until a least all the clocks on Town Halls, stations and floral clocks at the seaside are converted to digital displays.
