Just wanted to get some opinions as it’s a fairly new friendship. I get the impression that her H is a bit verbally abusive towards her. I’ve noticed it a few times when I’ve been around them. He seems to say things that will make her feel embarrassed and belittle her or talks down to her a bit. A few instances I’ve seen it happen and she just sighs and rolls her eyes. I’ve seen them bicker as well quite a few times.
I was round at their house this afternoon and witnessed him hit their DS (age 8) not particularly hard but it was a definite smack on the shoulder. Their DS kept telling him not to do something to him yet he carried on doing it anyway and he was nearly in tears. I found it really mean
They also have a DD (age 6) and he seemed to lose her temper with her, really angrily telling her to go and sit on the naughty step, over something quite small and she was in floods of tears and the look on his face was quite frightening
I just get the impression he has a quick temper. He’s also really quite arrogant and shows off. I felt really uncomfortable being there. He’s also overly nice to me at times
they have been married years though. I just don’t like what I see but I feel there’s nothing I can do really? Aibu to be concerned though?
