Was at a soft play with my DD today. It was in a leisure centre so no staff in there unless they were coming in to serve trays of food as there was a separate café area but the food was bought into the tables in the soft play area.

There was a mum in there with 5 children. Not observing any of the rules. The children were running around the actual soft play area eating and dropping food and spilling drinks. They all had no socks on when it said socks are to be worn. Then one of the children took off their clothes at the top and proceeded to come down the slide naked. Other children were using the slide after. Found it really unhygienic. The mum wasn't really doing anything. She did say to him after I'm fed up of having to keep getting you dressed. I think it must be a regular thing.

Would you have reported to staff

Yes. Did you?

ButWhatAboutTheBees · 31/07/2024 00:29

Well, yes, obviously I would have
Why is it a question?

Yes, if it bothered me enough to start an internet thread, of course it would've bothered me enough to tell the staff?

SiobhanTheGoblin · 31/07/2024 01:45

No. It was obviously the kid taking his own clothes off. I wouldn't grass up a child to the staff. Play Centres are unhygienic regardless of one naked child.

What were you thinking of reporting - the food, the socks, the nudity, or all three?

I don't think I would report any of them. If I was bothered enough I like to think I would say something to the mom myself, or to the kids, depending on their age.

Not saying you'd be wrong to tell the staff, exactly. I would just feel a bit silly doing it, personally. Like a kid at school. But perhaps that's daft.
