To have a tile effect ‘lino’ in my hallway

I have an old council house with a narrow dark and dingy hallway. Currently has a darkish wood effect laminate flooring which needs replaced. The hallway needs to be easy to keep clean with dc and dogs coming in and out so carpet isn’t an option and needs to be low cost.

I’m considering replacing the kitchen flooring (currently ugly council supplied safety flooring) flooring with a tile effect Lino/vinyl and wondering if having this right through the hallway too would be too much? I feel like it would make the hallway brighter and more open and modern. Or would it just look cheap and tacky? Any other suggestions gratefully received!

Lino has come along way. There are some fab designs. Do it.

Sounds great.

Agree - Lino is an excellent choice and so many designs to chose from. I have wood effect sheet vinyl in a bedroom and it’s great so easy to clean and looks like the real deal. I also have LVT in the kitchen and pantry so much better than real tiles (warmer underfoot, no breakages if you drop a glass, etc) I would definitely choose the same again!

Anything new and clean looks better than something old and dirty. And vinyl is no more fake or tacky than laminate.

It’ll be perfect for the house, easy peasy to keep clean too

You can get some lovely lino nowadays. Go for it 😁
