Think everyone should know 'run, hide, tell'

Absolutely awful news about Southport today. Saw a post raising a valid point that they wanted to know what we should all do to try and survive such an incident.
Official guidance is:

Run away, if you cannot get away then hide, call 999 once you can safely do so. Google it for more detail/videos. A link is here:

I knew this but that’s from years in the US and having to practice active shooter drills in schools. I’ve spoken to my DC tonight about what to do in the event of an incident like Southport. It’s horrific that we need to but better to tackle now so they have the knowledge, should they (God forbid) need it.

I know they practice it round here but a reminder is not a bad thing

This is why, even i the UK, schools have drills. It seems OTT, but it can happen. Thankfully rarely.

It's so terrible thinking of what those little children and the adults with them went through. The advice run, hide, tell is important and needs to be spoken about with children sadly.

I've seen on X details of an official warning from UAE to it's citizens in the UK. To avoid cities and crowded areas in the UK. I don't know if this is because they believe they could be a target for far right protesters or if they are aware of other terrorist threats. I hate what is going on in our world.
