I have a bbq without a lid.

I've enjoyed a bbq tonight for the very first time but the coals are still very hot. Can I just leave them overnight to cool? I'm concerned that animals might jump on them or something and get hurt!

I don't imagine any animals will jump on it. Leave it to cool as long as it's safe and embers are not going to blow and present a fire risk. Or just pour water on it which is what I do.

A cat might sit on them for a warm but it'll soon learn.
