To want to eat 3 meals a day

I am in Spain for SILs hen party. I am on a routine where I eat 3 meals a day, breakfast, lunch, dinner. However the other guests here just want to eat a big boozy lunch and that's it for the day. I've done it for a few days and cannot do another one. Am I rude if I just go off and have a sandwich for lunch and out to a restaurant myself for dinner? I like them all but it's just to much for me.

I sounds too much I think its fine to say what you want to do.

You won't be the only one thinking it OP.

I recon you will soon have some followers!

How many more days left? I'd go out for lunch and then grab a snack for later. I think ditching them for both meals seems quite rude, especially as it's a hen do so your fancy evening meal alone every night would surely affect gong out plans?

Are they doing class As for the evening?

LoopyLooooo · 28/07/2024 15:41

As an adult, you're asking us if it's rude to buy yourself a sandwich and some dinner?

What on earth did people do before the internet?

Lovetotravel123 · 28/07/2024 15:44

Definitely do it. I would. Just explain that you need to eat and will see them later. If you use the right tone then it shouldn’t come across as rude.

Cerialkiller · 28/07/2024 15:49

Are you in self catering or a hotel room or all inclusive. If the first two I would stock up on fruit/cereal bars for breakfast, join the others for lunch then at dinner, announce that you are hungry and you are off to get chips/pizza/whatever, likely some will join you, I would!

If all inclusive then WTF are they doing!? Free food, gooooo!!

Yupthatsit · 28/07/2024 16:00

It's presumably only a few days. You'd not be rude to grab a sandwich but rude to avoid meals with them. Are you really that inflexible? Just grab some snacks if you're hungry.

You are in charge of yourself op, do what suits you, I don't see why others would be offended ( not that they have a right anyway ) enjoy your 3 meals a day.

ODFOx · 28/07/2024 17:01

There's a middle ground to have that won't cause offence. Just switch your main meal to lunchtime for the time that you are there and have less booze than the rest, then grab a sandwich or salad in the evening. You will still be participating but without the 'all or nothing' approach.

This is basically what I was going to submit

Also what I was going to suggest

I'd probably get something in to have for breakfast even just fruit or pastries, see the lunch as main meal then pick up a sandwich or salad etc for dinner, there's no way no one else is hungry by dinner time, I say that as someone who often gets too distracted and forgets to eat breakfast (can't have it first thing because I have to leave an hour after meds before eating and then the day just runs away with me)

Will try this today, thank you 😊
