To wonder why I always get one friend's messages twice?

I know pretty petty thing to overthink but I have one particular friend who everytime she texts me I get the text message twice within a minute or
so every single time, she doesn't know why this happens and it doesn't happen with anyone else, does anyone have any idea why this could be or if there's anything she could do to stop this?
Not very tech minded so thought I'd see if anyone could shed some light.

Do you mean text as in SMS? It could be that her phone is trying to send it as MMS and then as SMS. I've occasionally had double texts because of that.

She could switch it to try sending from SMS all the time and see if that helps.

iMessage

I don't know much about iMessage but it's probably the same principle at fault with it not registering that it has sent successfully so it tries again.

Experiencing the same with my mums iPhone . Every single text is duplicated. I've tried to sort out for her but can't fix it. Hope someone comes on here with a brilliant idea!

It's definitely or something she is doing wrong.. and it's nothing to do with signal strength

Yeah, my DW sometimes duplicates texts because her phone and Apple Watch both send it. It only happens randomly though, all day one day then not for a week 🤷‍♀️

In the past I have received duplicate emails from companies perhaps 2 days apart. It turned out it was a setting that if the email hadn't been opened within 48 hours (presumably recorded through a cookie of some sort?) the email was resent. I said I felt it was bad practice. I hadn't opened the email as I was busy, and getting a 2nd identical email was not helpful. They agreed. I haven't had that in a while so perhaps that setting is no longer available on emails. But worth checking if phone messaging has a similar setting.
