… on the fact that all victims of the strike in the occupied Golan heights yesterday are Arabs?

Surely that is highly relevant and newsworthy?

Probably because the 12 children murdered by Hezbollah were Israeli-Druze and murdered Israeli children don't get the same kind of mainstream media coverage as those in Gaza. The Druze community are calling for Israel to retaliate against Hezbollah.

They are, aren’t they? The bbc reports it as ‘Saturday’s attack on the Druze town of Majdal Shams….’.

@chayaishere they were not actually Israeli from what has been communicated so far. They are from the Arab Druze community in the occupied Golan heights, 80% of which have not accepted Israeli citizenship because they still consider themselves to be Syrian.

The Today programme on R4 this morning had a whole section on the fact the victims were Druze and a discussion with an expert on who the Druze are.

Yes - this is now being extensively reported but it was not reported well on the first day and I found that surprising.

So this thread has become quite futile.

Maybe it's because they didn't know on the first day? News evolves. The problem with 24 hour news channels is people expect to know all the facts of an issue immediately.

This is incorrect. They are not Israeli. They are Syrian. The Golan Heights is being occupied by Israel. The people that reside there are Syrian.
