Ebay issue-they've taken postage from me and the buyer!

I sold some shoes for £12 yesterday and have been sent £9.73, so £12 minus the £2.94 postage. However the buyer paid for the postage on top of the £12. What is going on? I going to contact ebay. They've had 2 lots of postage, cheeky fucks! It's free to list clothes - do shoes count as clothes?!

That's not enough for postage, surely?

Free to list but could it be transaction fees for when the item sold?

Did you buy postage via Ebay? I'm not sure if it recently changed, but I noticed the other day that it had an option to pay out of pending funds rather than from my credit card/PayPal.

Go on to the item you sold and scroll down to the what you earned section, and it will tell you what the money was deducted for.

Shoes don’t count as clothes, but even when you sell clothes they take a cut of the postage. It’s a bit cheeky.

I can’t find that bit. The money taken is exactly the postage, suspicious!

Yes. The percentage fees is 12.8 so about £1.53. Think I’ll stick to Vinted where you get the full selling amount for everything!

Thanks all!

Duh, me and maths! Not quite the postage but more than the 12.8% +30p as per eBay policy.

Evri tracked=£2.94 up to the size of a shoebox. Clearly my maths is crap, to be fair, I had just woken up and was still in a pitch black room, still, should definitely check my maths! 🤦🏼‍♀️
