Lettings agents. Directors of the company called round at the office at closing time. I was hoovering the office and said 'Ooh, domestic goddess'. The other ladies in the office did a funny look and when he left said it was weird that he said that.

I wouldn’t have given it a second’s thought. Just sounds like slightly awkward small talk type comment. Do you think he might fancy you? If so I’d say you’re reading too much into it.

Sorry, should have said. He has a bit of form apparently and I haven't been in the job long. The ladies in the office said that it was sexist of him to say that. We just had a summer work do and he was talking about FMB. (Fuck me boots) high knee boots apparently.

the other comment as a one off isn’t nor would I find it misogynistic on its own. I saw a man in a shop hoovering the other week and he was getting “banter” along the lines of “you’d make someone a good wife”, and “missed a bit”. Not particularly funny but not worth any headspace.

You know what I realised this week? Women are expected to put up with a constant drip drip drip of adverts and music and media and comments and banter and twattery of all sorts. Each part of it is 'just' that thing. But it's not. It's a pattern. And then the big things happen and we're 'hysterical' because we get angry.

Maybe men should stop saying fucking ignorant, twattish things to women they don't know well enough to know if they're going to find them as hilarious as they find themselves.
