To think it’s selfish

To have a fire/burn things in your back garden without letting your neighbours know first? I understand a BBQ and wouldn’t resent this but it just seems to be a fire they’re having for the sake of burning things, not even sitting around it. I wouldn’t be bothered for the sake of an hour but it’s been ongoing for 3 now. Semi detached so no way of stopping it blowing over. I can’t open the windows in the house without it stinking of smoke, but it’s warm enough to want to open the windows today.

AIBU to think they could have let us know they were doing it? I would’ve been fine with it if so and would have hung my washing out very early but as it stands I’ve not been able to this afternoon so it has put me out

It would have been more neighbourly to let you know but they aren’t obliged to.

Just come into my bedroom to find it full of smoke because my inconsiderate and entitled neighbours have lit a fire pit (again) directly under my open bedroom window. They are complete selfish gits - my whole house how stinks.
