To enjoy ironing on a slow day?

When I am in no rush to do anything else, I make a leisure activity out of it…

Lovely ironing water, something to watch, glass of wine or cup of tea on the go. I carefully cut off loose threads, check for tiny stains, what may need a more careful wash, mending, what may be past its best. If I am in the mood, I will do a couple of items for DP or iron pillow cases, so that edge is neat. Today may be one of those but sadly so was yesterday and I have nothing to iron 😂

What ironing water is nice? Do you ever use spray starch?

My ironing board is giant and gets in the way wherever I put it, I wish I had a magical, always-ready ironing space

I quite like it as well.

I take care to fold everything the right way, and to make neat piles of pillowcases and tea towels.

My dresses go on the hanger, all facing the same way.

My job is pure chaos, and this brings me some needed order.

I quite like it when it’s a choice and not a chore; everyone leaves me alone and I watch tv while getting instant gratification.
I see ironing as optional for clothes so it doesn’t feel like another thing on my list. The smell also reminds me of my childhood - comfort, warmth, Sunday afternoons with my mum

Oh yes! My problem is that my mum is an excellent iron-er and I just can't reach her levels of perfection so, whilst I enjoy it, I don't quite have that level of satisfaction at the end at a tower of neat ironing.
Teen DD has started doing some of the ironing now and it slightly rankles!

Oh and I use the headphones with some music.

Ironing is one of my favourite jobs, hugely productive with little energy from me.

I have a Fastpress for everything apart from shirts, for those I use my normal hand iron and a wonderful wooden ironing board that I inherited. Its heavy to move and set up but it is so solid, does not move when doing shirts.

I put youtube on my Alexa screen, airpods in and off I go.

I don't mind it too much on a damp day if I've got something interesting and/or funny to listen to.
But because I'd rather be doing things in the garden or going out somewhere, it tends to build up too much...it's annoying to do a lot of ironing and still have lots left.
