Hand hold. I caught my type 1 son in a seizure last year. He did come round with me literally spooning in glucogel cos I just couldn’t fathom the glucagon injection. I had my phone under my ear yelling for an ambulance at the same time. Poor thing came round and didn’t have a clue what had happened.

Take care. I hope he is OK. Keep us updated.

He was diagnosed last year at aged 24, the hospital and doctors all missed it until he was in Ketosis coma

Oh bless you, OP. You have really been through it. Is there any news?

What a worry. Hope everything will be fine very soon for you both. Xx

MounjaroUser · 26/07/2024 17:44

I'm so sorry, I hope he makes a good recovery.

FoodieToo · 26/07/2024 17:45

Hello, my brother had Type 1 and he often had seizures related to it . He was always fine afterwards . It's terrifying but he should be fine .

Tholeonagain · 26/07/2024 17:46

thinking of you and your dear son. Let us know how things are when you can x

If it is hypo related and he doesn't already do so look into CGM (continuous glucose monitoring) either libre or Dexcom are very good and both available on the NHS.
They will give a warning when he's going low so he can fix it before he ends up in a seizure.
Hope he is alright

Klippityklopp · 26/07/2024 18:46

Fellow T1 mum here, sending massive hugs. It really is a horrible disease

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 27/07/2024 13:53

He was released from hospital last night around 7pm, they needed his bed, after a CT scan and his levels stable, came home and slept for 14 hours.

He will have an appointment with his team.

That sounds good, OP. They always need to sleep following a bad hypo. Are you ok?
