Freaking out that I forgot to inform uc of a change

Hi all so I moved house on monday.
It's all been very stressful as I've done it all alone with 3 children as a single parent.
I was trying to be organised & phoned up uc a few weeks ago to let them know of the change of address and that it would be on the 22nd July, I was told on the phone to phone back on the day I move and I cannot inform them before the change happens, also failure to inform them on that day of moving will cause a delay in money and I could get a fine or a sanction, absolutely ridiculous in my opinion as you have enough to think about on moving day!

Monday was very busy, my kids have already broken up from school. We moved and I was up until 2.30 am sorting things, contacting uc about my change of address totally slipped my mind as I'm sure u can all imagine.
The last few days I've been so caught up in unpacking and looking after the children that I have only now just remembered I need to let them know that I've moved asap!!
however my friend has just told me i will probably get a delay in money and a sanction now for not informing them on Monday 😭

I'm due to get paid uc this monday coming! So now I am completely freaked out, if I dont recieve my money on monday we will have no food! I have zero money left after paying for removals and rent in advanced. I am thinking shall I inform them afterro have been paid on monday? To prevent a risk of my benefit being stopped / delayed?
Any advice would be great , thank you :)

If you’re due to get paid on Monday do you not already have your statement anyway? What are your assessment period dates?

Could you just say you moved the day you phone up.. are they gonna check ? Just say its your actual moving in day on Monday.

I suggested this to my friend and she said no, just incase they ask to see the tenancy as I will be applying for some help towards the rent alongside my wages from my part time job. If they see the date is different on the tenancy , I will be seen to be lying about my move in date.

OP, can you manage your UC account online? You can notify them about change in your journal.
I have notified them a few days after I signed new tenancy agreement. It was backdated as I was unable to view the property for a few days.
No sanctions except a ballache of „are you entitled to this and that”🙄 when I exchanged like for like and only changed the address.

Tenancy agreement and move in date are two separate things though. We have our current tenancy agreement starting on the 12th of September but our previous tenancy ended on the 16th so we were moving in stages and had a couple of days to do the clean and last-minute bits, which is what most people would surely do. And I don't see how UC would be able to check it or even have money and time to bother about 3 extra days.
