Refund - what should I do?

Posted in 30 days but also here for traffic.

I've been promised a refund for an activity which I paid for in advance but couldn't do on the day (health issue). I gave over a week's notice. The organiser said in an email at the beginning of July that he would be happy to refund the money but he hasn't done so yet, he kept promising it was on the way but is now not answering his phone or replying to WhatsApp/texts/emails.

I'd like the refund ideally, but if he has a cashflow issue I'd be happy to carry the amount over to a new booking in the future. I don't want to cause him problems - I just want him to reply so we can sort it out!

What can I do? I don't want to fall out with him as I'd like to book with him again, but I'm at a loss how to get hold of him.

He's too far away to drop in, plus I don't know his address. He doesn't have business premises as such. The amount is £380.

Thank you.

How did you pay and what were the contract terms?

I paid by bank transfer and it says on the website that he's happy to refund if you cancel. He's confirmed this in an email and several texts.

Yes we arrived in good time for our session start of 1630 and had until 18:30 to complete it and hand in harnesses. In practice we didn’t get started until 1650 due to waiting for safety briefing and then had finished in a rush by 5:45! By which time all the levels had shut!

Debit card online, you have up to 2 hours to complete and hand back your harness

@Stripyseason did you mean to post that on the Go Ape thread?

@Stripyseason I think you're posting on the wrong thread
