Smart Phone Liberation

For the past three days, I’ve been trying to significantly reduce my smart phone use. I don’t take it to bed with me, l leave it downstairs charging. At work, it goes in my desk drawer and I check it at lunch; I’ve given the nursery my work phone number if they need it. I also put away between 6 and 8 for family time, bath and bed. I might do some scrolling in the evening but if I’m watching a programme or film, I put it down.

I can’t tell you how liberating it feels not to be doing everything clutching it or watching stuff over the top of it. I’m considering not buying a smart phone again when my contract is up.

I do slip up occasionally but the bed thing alone has been great.

Has anyone else done anything similar?
