Kids party mainly outdoors in October?

DD turns 7 at the end of October, I’d love to throw her a party at home with the girls in her class, a really nice bunch of girls. A small school/class so only 6 girls + my daughter & her 2 younger siblings.

She would like a Halloween party, would I be mad to have this both indoors and outside? I was thinking of hiring some big outdoor heaters (if this exists to hire!!) and doing some slime making and pumpkin decorating outside on our fairly big outdoor table. I’d never fit all the kids around my small kitchen table!
a spooky treasure hunt outside and then maybe back inside for some more themed games etc or a craft.

my house is on the small side so it would feel like a squeeze if it was all inside.

Would you find this odd for end of October?

Do it. We went to an outdoor halloween party last year and it was fine 🙂

A lot of events for Halloween are outside so wouldn't seem odd. But make sure to have a plan B if it pours down.

We had one last year and had the kids doing some sparklers/ spray silly string cans etc and a hunt outside and it was fine. Just make sure parents know to bring some outdoor clothes too and have a plan in case the weather does turn

I think you would need to let parents know so they can make sure everyone dresses appropriately and probably also bring a change of clothes. You would also need an alternate plan. If it’s a bit drizzly but mild that’s one thing but if it’s stormy and there’s a weather warning in place, you’ll need a back up plan.

I would not be looking forward to the cleanup mission if it was anything other than dry though!

Rain is your main disruptor - I’d be more bothered about hiring/borrowing a gazebo than outdoor heaters.

There are lots of great outdoor activities suitable for October. Scavenger/treasure hunts, apple dunking, pumpkin carving, den building, games…

Just make sure you stress it’s an outdoor party on the invitations so no one arrives in a party dress and fancy shoes rather than warm clothes and wellies.

I’m sure your daughter will have a fabulous time.

Halloween hasn’t historically been that cold. My DD’s birthday is around then and she’s had more outdoor parties than indoor. Weather has been glorious some days. I’d go for it.

Just plan a contingency if it rains!

I reckon that would be ok. October is a funny month weather wise...last year we had a BBQ in our garden then as it was surprisingly warm weather! Maybe get a gazebo in case it rains though
