Free School Meals & Uniform Grants

Hi

My child is transferring to senior school in September so I requested information on applying for a uniform grant to be told this is only for children who have a free school meal entitlement.
We have this which I explained sending confirmation to be told I had to reapply, as something has gone wrong with the transfer of information from primary school.

When the FSM was awarded the letter stated that entitlement would be up to March 25 regardless of any change of circumstances so I fear if I make a new application I will be declined.

Has anyone else come up against this problem before and have any advice on how to keep this until March.

Thanks in advance.
C

Why would you now be denied? If you are still entitled you will get them. If you’re circumstances have changed it’s only fair that you have to pay

You should have transitional protection. Anyone who is eligible stays eligible until March 2025 and at that point will stay eligible until end of phase (so for you until end of y11) regardless of change of circumstances.
why can’t they ask the primary school to send the information again??

Hi
I've asked this and they said it is easier for them to receive direct from the council.
Maybe I should ask at the primary school. 😊

It’s shouldn’t be a problem to get rechecked if your circumstances haven’t changed.
but the council should be able to check if you have transitional protection.
