NHS right to choose?

My adult DD has broken her leg/ankle and needs surgery. Today is day eleven since the accident and she still has no date for the surgery as our local trust doesn't have the theatre capacity until at least Wednesday (that would be day 14), but she isn't on the list for Wednesday so it would probably be longer.

We have asked for the team to contact another local NHS trust to see if they have capacity. They have refused as they are still willing to do the surgery. Apparently we have every right to go and sit in their A&E if we want to but a conversation between hospitals can't happen.

Her mental health relies on her ability to do her hobby, which in turn requires her to have good ankle mobility. We're worried that her outcome will be affected by this delay.

Would you go and sit in another A&E or should we just wait for our own trust to do the surgery?
