Home decor and colour drenching - help please!

I know this isn’t an AIBU but I want answers!’

I’ve seen the pics online of colour drenched rooms and I think I’d like to do this in my house in some rooms.

However what do you do with the wood? Do you use the same emulsion? Or buy a trim paint in a matching colour?

If you’ve done this what do you do?

You'll create more visual interest if you use different paint finishes. All one finish would be really monotonous.

I just can’t imagine using emulsion on skirtings so i get the same colour in a wood paint and just paint like normal. Ok.
