To ask for help with cough remedy for DD?

DD is 3 and she is really struggling with a cough that only affects her at night time. She's mostly fine during the day. It's been a few nights now of the same. I plan to take her to the GP on Monday but for now is there anything I can do that I haven't thought of to help her? She's had cough medicine and calpol, and I've put her on her side as she seems to cough more on her back. It's really disturbing her (and my) sleep every night now, desperate for a solution! Thank you

They do an Olbas oil for children which might be worth a try as nose and throat is all linked. Sometimes having something to focus on other than the cough can help abate it, and the scent of Olbas might work.

Are you able to give her an extra pillow / raise the head of the bed?

Honey is also soothing, and steam in her room

I coughed nightly when I was little and was diagnosed (after 8 months) with asthma. Definitely get her checked out and see what they say x

Broncho Stop Jnr works.

The calpol plug in things are fab for coughs - always helped when my kids were little.

That was how my daughter's asthma started

This. It’s our go to when our son has a cold or cough.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've used those calpol plug ins before, I'll get some of those tomorrow.

I'm a bit worried about the asthma possibility, I really hope not, poor thing ☹️ I'll definitely get her checked out on Monday though.

Don't worry. It can be easily managed in a lot of cases
