To think £700 for a week isn’t that expensive?

Looking at booking a summer holiday. Found a deal for a villa and shared pool. Just me and dh. It would cost (each);
Villa: £350
Flight: £150
Transfer: £100
Car rental: £100

AIBU to think that’s not awfully expensive? Obviously there is food and other things too, but we spend a lot on food in London anyway.

We spend around £850 kn AI outside school holidays. Your price is about average. If it's within the school holidays then it's cheap.

FanDann · 19/07/2024 23:49

Looks like a great price to me!

MidnightPatrol · 20/07/2024 05:17

I mean, hard to say not knowing exactly what and where.

But - £700 for a week sounds good value in principle

Notquitegrownup2 · 20/07/2024 06:45

Seems good to me. It would cost more to stay in the UK for a week . . .

Notquitegrownup2 · 20/07/2024 06:46

Sorry. Just seen that your cost was each! It's more than staying on the UK, but yes £700 each is good value for a week in the sun . . .

Mummadeze · 20/07/2024 06:50

The only bit that seems v expensive is £200 for a transfer. I would shop around or see if there is public transport for part of the way maybe?

EmberAsh · 20/07/2024 06:51

I think that's quite a lot for 2 people and no meals included, but it depends on location.

mitogoshi · 20/07/2024 06:53

I personally tend to book places with food and as we don't need to go in school holidays for £700 you can get a good 4* ai and have enough for a car a couple of days or an activity

amylou8 · 20/07/2024 06:56

I think that's pretty expensive. £200 for a transfer? Is it a helicopter?

lilao · 20/07/2024 06:58

If you are hiring a car can you pick it up at the airport and save the £200 cost?

Werweisswohin · 20/07/2024 07:04

Those are costs each, so effectively the actual cost is double that? It's not for anyone else to decide how cheap or expensive it is because we don't know your budget.

PuttingDownRoots · 20/07/2024 07:05

Villa... £100 per night... seems reasonable
Flights... £75 each way per person? Again reasonable
Transfers/car hire... not sure

HobNobAddict · 20/07/2024 07:29

I'd book it - having your own villa and pool (shared) sounds good - have you read the reviews on the villa ?

dbeuowlxb173939 · 20/07/2024 08:19

Yes that seems like a good price. It would cost at least that for a cottage in the UK!

ricecrispiecakes · 20/07/2024 08:21

I think that's quite expensive given there's no meals included and you'd have to share a pool.
