Putting under AIBU in the hope that someone may be able to help me!

I bought an echo dot kids for my Daughters birthday.

Was hoping she'd be able to play music through it. Having an absolute nightmare connecting it to music. I've tried connecting to Apple Music and Spotify. Just won't play anything.

I've now got Amazon music in the hope of connecting that, but I can't work out how to do it/it's not working!! Does anyone know what they're doing and can help me please!

Don’t you just do it through the Alexa app? That’s how they are in our house.

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Tap the menu and select Music, Video, & Books.
  3. Tap Music.
  4. Select Amazon Music.
  5. Log in to your Amazon Music account.

even if I use the one in our house that isn’t connected to Amazon music I can still get it to play music by saying Alexa play the most played songs.
How does it respond? when you say, for example - Alexa play pop music

This, you just connect via the Alexa app and then once connected you can ask her to play any of playlists within those apps
